Harden  - Murrumburrah Women’s Gather & Glow – “Permission to Shine”

The exclusive Ang Hart Workshop was tailored especially for the 2025 Rural Women’s Gathering.

The day was a celebration of rural women’s resilience, and I was thrilled to be part of a line‑up that also included Grace Brennan (Founder of #buyfromthebush), Jen Polimeni (Flowers By Jen), Faith Rogers (RAMHP), Mandy Bourlet (Made By Mandy Moo) the 3 Bush Seeds crew (Yoga Flow) and Sharon Smithers (Bees to Honey Marketing).

My workshop, Permission to Shine – Radiance in Colour, was a joyful creative workshop designed to uplift and inspire. Through vibrant acrylic painting, the attendees created a symbolic sunburst or glowing form that celebrated inner radiance and their right to take up space. Guided by gentle visualisation and colour therapy techniques, this session was all about boosting self-esteem, embracing individuality, and expressing each woman’s personal life light on canvas.

No art experience was required – just the willingness to let a brush move.

The women rolled up their sleeves, chose a hue that felt right, and left with a canvas that now sits in their homes as a tiny, portable reminder that they have permission to occupy space and speak up. Seeing the group mingle over high tea and find joy in the freedom of art, I was reminded why I love doing this work. It’s not just about selling art; it’s about handing people a small, colourful token that says, “You belong here. You can be safe”

Resilience isn’t about being tough — it’s about gently reconnecting with yourself, remembering your strength, and letting others walk alongside you.

Having way too much fun whilst guiding the workshop.
